Grace Carol (Gentry) Crow

GRACE CAROL GENTRY CROW, age 95, of Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Thursday afternoon, June 26, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side.   Born March 5, 1930 in the Allensville Community, daughter of the late Charlie Augustas and Hattie Belle Gentry and was wife of 64 years to the late Kenneth Dale Crow, Sr.

Mrs. Crow was a lifetime member of Allensville United Methodist Church where she taught the adult Sunday School Class, worked with MYF, was an active member of the United Methodist Women and served on the Administrative Council as Secretary and as Church Historian.  She was active in the Allensville Community with the Allensville Grange helping to organize the Allensville Volunteer Fire Department, serving on the first Board of Directors as secretary.  She was a member of the Allensville Recreation Association and enjoyed serving her community in the concession stand at the ball field. One of her greatest joys was sharing her extensive research and record keeping of her family and community history.

Mrs. Crow graduated from Allensville High School in 1948 and was valedictorian of her graduating class.  She attended Kennedy's Commercial School and became employed by Watts Hospital in the record room.  She was later employed for 30 years by George W. Kane in the accounting department.  

Mrs. Crow is survived by her daughter, Carol Crow White (Gary), son, Kenneth Dale Crow, Jr. (Robin), grandchildren, Janet Heape (Jordan), Allison White, (Adam Lawler), Gracen Crow, and great granddaughter, Carolina Heape.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Crow is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Angel White, brothers, Charles Gentry, Bennie Gentry, and Buddy Gentry, sisters, Felcia Wilson, and Gustavia Knott.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Allensville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lindsey Collins, and the Rev. Rod Mullen officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.
