Gordon Stover Davis, Jr.

Gordon Stover Davis, Jr., age 70, of 263 Davis Farm Road, Leasburg, NC died Monday afternoon, September 21, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Davis was born May 1, 1950 in Person County, NC, son of the late Gordon Stover Davis Sr. & Jean Winstead Davis who survives.  Mr. Davis was retired from the City of Burlington after 26 years of service and was a member of Leasburg United Methodist Church.

Gordon had a smile that was contagious and a unique laugh.  He enjoyed farming, NASCAR, baseball, Duke Sports, and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother, Mike Davis & wife, Jenny Lynn, three sisters, Jeanette D. Clayton & husband, Ricky, Cathy D. Brann & fiancée, Jerry Puryear, Joyce D. Hall & husband, Brian, all of Leasburg, NC, five nieces & nephews, 10 great nieces & nephews, 4 great-great nieces & nephews, a host of cousins, and three aunts.

In addition to his father, Mr. Davis was preceded in death by a nephew, Reggie Clayton.

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 23, 2020 in the Leasburg Community Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Pearce officiating. The family will receive friends and guests after the service and other times at the home of Joyce and Brian Hall, 418 Ralph Winstead Road, Leasburg, NC.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Brooks, Phillip Coleman, Kelly Davis, Jordon Hall, David Helms, Bryant Holt, Greg Holt and Mickey Yeatts.

Flowers are acceptable or memorial donations may be made to the Leasburg Community Cemetery c/o Hilda Holt, 8978 Leasburg Road, Leasburg, NC 27291.
