Gladys Louise (Harris) Tatum

GLADYS LOUISE HARRIS TATUM, age 93, of 1565 John Brewer Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Monday morning, July 14, 2024 at her home.

Mrs. Tatum was born July 27, 1930 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Earnest Jefferson “EJ” and Pearl Mitchell Harris and was wife of the late Joseph Tatum, Jr.  She graduated from Elon College, was retired as a seamstress from Crown Crafts after 30 years of service, and was of the Baptist faith. 

Louise was a Duke basketball fan, loved working outside as well as quilting and sewing. 

Surviving are a daughter-in-law, Sharon Tatum, four grandchildren, Scott Tatum, IV, Shanna Tankley & husband, Drew, Jonah Scott Tatum, and Benjamin Reid Tanksley.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tatum is preceded in death by two children, Scott Tatum, III, and Lisa Tatum. 

Graveside service was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday July 17, 2024 at the Tillman Family Cemetery, 1242 Morton Pulliam Road, Roxboro NC and officiated by Dr. M. David Chambers.
