George "Butch" Beachum O'Briant, Jr.

GEORGE BEACHUM “BUTCH” O’BRIANT JR. age 55, of  Timberlake, NC died Wednesday night, July 20, 2022.

Mr. O’Briant was born August 6, 1966 in Person County, NC, son of the late George Beachum O’Briant Sr. and Margaret Oakley O’Briant who survives and was husband of 19 years to Tracey O’Briant who survives. He was employed by GKN as a Program Manager and was a member of North Roxboro Baptist Church.

Butch was a very active member of North Roxboro Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher. Butch was also the assistant coach of the Roxboro Community School High School Volleyball team.   

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two children, James Beachum O’Briant, Alison Lynn O’Briant, all of Timberlake, NC, sister, Kimberly O. Tingen & husband, David of Roxboro, NC, brother, Chance N. O’Briant of Roxboro, NC, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim & Gail Haigler of Durham, NC, brother-in-law, Jamie Haigler & wife , Becky of Durham, NC , and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 23, 2022 at North Roxboro Baptist Church with the Rev. Ben Durand officiating.  Interment will follow in the Oakley Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at North Roxboro Baptist Church and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be David Adkins, Jacob Haigler, Jamie Haigler, Greg Oakley, Chance O’Briant, Tristin O’Briant, Caleb Tingen and David Tingen. Honorary Pallbearers will be Josh Bayliff, Jimmy Jeffreys, Jimmy Ray Long, Bruce Mabry, Reed Marston, Adam Oakley, Johnny Oakley, and Reggie Oakley.

Memorial contributions may be made to the North Roxboro Baptist Church General Fund, 115 School Street, Roxboro, NC 27573.
