Gene Carlton Long

GENE CARLTON LONG, age 60, of 339 South Morgan Street, Roxboro, NC died Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at The Oxford House Driver in Durham, NC.

Mr. Long was born July 24, 1961 in Person County, NC, son of Gene Austin Long & the late Marion Phelps Long and was husband of 14 years to Terry Lynn Long who survives.  He was previously employed in maintenance with MWP Contractors, was of the Methodist faith, and was a veteran of the US Army.

In addition to his father and wife surviving are a daughter, Shera Fullenwider of Durham, NC, step-daughter, Stephanie Slaughter, step-son, Shane Slaughter & wife, Christy, half-sister, Tonya Long, eleven grandchildren, Alex, Alysa, Seth, Vincent, Nathan, Aleah, Adelynn, Brentley, Cameron, Kaylee, William, two great grandchildren, Winter, Everett, and his life-long guidance and supporters, Baldie & Brenda Shelton.

In addition to his mother, Mr. Long is preceded in death by a son, Brian Gene Long, maternal grandmother, Ruth Phelps, and two brothers, Babe Long, and Wesley Vaughan. 

Graveside memorial services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the Person Memorial Cemetery.
