Frances Pauline (Tate) Sorensen

FRANCES PAULINE TATE SORENSEN, age 56, of Roxboro, NC, passed away Saturday afternoon, August 19, 2023 at WakeMed Raleigh.

Mrs. Sorensen was born April 10, 1967 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Ernest Norman Tate, Sr. & Peggy Joyce Collins Tate who survives.  She worked in the restaurant business and also at Russell Stover until her health forced her to quit.  She was of the Baptist faith.

Frances was an organ donor in hope’s that she could continue the life of someone else in need.  She enjoyed crafting, flowers, cooking, and caring for others.   

Surviving in addition to her mother are a brother, Ernie Tate, Jr. & wife Shannon, nephew, Ethan Chase Tate, and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.   

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 24, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Michael Bryant officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of her mother, 427 North Lamar Street, Roxboro, NC or her brother’s home, 160 Brunswick Lane, Roxboro, NC.    

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Amputee Coalition, 601 Pennsylvania Ave, STE. 420 South Building, Washington, DC 20004.
