Emogene Carver Obituary

It is with thankfulness and joy that Portia Carver and Anna Nabb celebrate the life of Emogene G. Carver, wife of the late Carlton B. Carver formerly of Timberlake, North Carolina, and more recently of Knoxville, TN.  Those who knew her know Faith, family, friends, and flowers were some of the greatest passions in Mama’s (Aunt Jean’s) life!

Faith … There are no words to describe the strength of her faith.  It was unfailing in the worst of times and spilling over in the best of times.  God and Jesus were her life and she wanted to share them with everyone!

Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.  Heb 11:1

Family and Friends … Emogene loved her family and friends with every ounce of her being, too many to name, but know that she loved you with all her heart!  Her family was her rock through the challenges life presented.  Her Antioch church family was her joy for most of her life, and she was able to share in this joy with her Highland church family in later years.

When we have each other, we have Everything!

Flowers … they made her smile, every single day!  When our Mom graced you with her brilliant smile you knew you had shared a special moment just with her. It is a rare gift to know someone who wears her love so visibly.

To honor Mama, we ask that if you can join us (in a COVID-19-safe way) please help us create a flower garden so we can feel her smile from heaven!  Our hope is that you choose flowers that make you smile when you think of her. They can be anything from wildflowers, to store-bought, to blooms from your own garden.

If you have a single flower for every time we will think of you, you will be able to walk in your garden Forever!

Join us to create her flower garden at Burchwood Cemetery any time between 11:30am – 12:30pm on Saturday, September 19th. Just walk up, place your flowers in the garden and have your own special moment with her.  You do not need to gather there as we not only encourage, but respectfully ask that everyone remain socially distanced.

Prior to our Garden of Love presentation there will be a short service beginning at 11am you are welcome to join. We respectfully ask that everyone wear a mask, remain socially distanced, and refrain from gathering in large groups while celebrating Mama’s life.

If you are not able to join us in our special Garden of Love and would like to honor Mom please send donations to the Lucy Daniels Foundation, 629 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, NC 27605, a North Carolina non-profit supporting children with psychological needs.

We love you Mama (Aunt Jean)!

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
