EMMETT MARLIN HARRIS, age 75, of 192 Misty Hollow Road, Timberlake, NC passed away Tuesday morning, October 15, 2024 at his home.
Mr. Harris was born November 4, 1948 in Person County, NC, son of the late William Haywood & Margaret Elizabeth Gravitte Harris and was husband of 15 years to the late Frances Denise Davis. Prior to retirement he was manager of several Food Mart stores and an eventual owner and was of the Baptist faith.
Emmett enjoyed mowing his lawn, taking the dogs for rides, working in his shop, watching Gunsmoke, dancing, bluegrass music, spending time with his family, and was an avid Tarheel fan.
Surviving are two sons, Tommy Harris & wife April, Keith Harris, six grandchildren, Amber Lynn Separk & husband, Brian, T.J. Harris & wife, Sierra, Megan Harris (Kenny Stone), Hope Clark, Dalton O’Briant, Briana Harris, five great-grandchildren, Kinsley Harris, Oaklynn Separk, Josie Separk, Aiden Harris, Levi Stone, Brother, Jimmy Harris & wife, Margaret, sisters, Monte Dunn, and Katie Shotwell.
In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Harris is preceded in death by a brother, Robert Harris, and sisters, Elizabeth Buchanan, and Hannah Brassfield.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 17, 2024 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will follow in the Leasburg Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Brett Barbee, Kevin Chambers, Donny Denny, Keith Harris, T.J. Harris, and Adam Poindexter. Honorary pallbearers will be Dalton O’Briant, and Kelly Small.
