Emily Elizabeth (Roberson) Martin

EMILY ELIZABETH ROBERSON MARTIN, age 84, of Roxboro, NC passed away Saturday morning, March 22, 2025 at Duke Regional Hospital. 

Mrs. Martin was born January 17, 1941 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Walter Edward & Laura Ann Clayton Roberson and was wife of nearly 62 years to the late Theodore Raleigh “Joe Billy” Martin.  She was retired from Eaton Corp. and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church.

Emily enjoyed shopping, traveling, going out to eat with friends, and bluegrass music.

Surviving are three grandchildren, Jeremy Tyler Martin, Kelsey Martin, Christian Martin, nieces, Teresa M. Spencer & husband, Tony, Tina M. Oakley, great-grandson, Kasen Bishop, caregivers, Christy & James Smith, and a host of great, and great-great nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Martin is preceded in death by three children, Tina Marie Martin, Jimmy Ray Martin, Joseph Daniel Martin, sisters, Janie Roberson Martin, Iris “Mickey” Roberson Dawson, and nephews, Todd Edward Martin, and Skeet Dawson.

The family will receive friends and guests from 3:00 till 4:30 p.m. Saturday, March 29, 2025 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
