ELLA ALEASE CLAYTON, age 78, of Roxboro, NC passed away Sunday morning, May 26, 2024 at Roxboro Healthcare & Rehabilitation.
Ms. Clayton was born October 26, 1945 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Giles Howard and Myrtice Sue Long Clayton. She was formerly employed with Loxcreen and Person Industries and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church.
Alease enjoyed bluegrass music, spending time with children, going to yard sales, visiting shut-ins, eating chitterlings, walking, and making early Christmas morning visits.
Surviving are her siblings, Bud Clayton and wife, Ramona, Wayne Clayton and wife, Elaine, Tim Clayton and wife, Debbie Sue, G.H. Clayton, Jr., Faye Benville, and Hilda Clayton as well as a host of nieces and nephews. She will be greatly missed by her “special daughter”, Haley Welborn.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Clayton is preceded in death by sister, Peggy Jean Clayton Harris, step-mother, Allie Ree Clayton, and brothers-in-law, Merritt Harris, and Ray Benville.
Those wishing to pay their respects may do so Monday, May 27, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Graveside services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2024 in Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Brown, and the Rev. Ben Francis officiating.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Allen, Daniel Clayton, Gerald Clayton, Mike Clayton, Mike Rudder and Jerry Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be Stephen Clayton, and Haley Welborn.
