Edward Larry Wilson

EDWARD LARRY WILSON, age 88, of 31 Edwards Drive, NC passed away Thursday morning, January 15, 2026 at the Hock Family Pavilion.  Born June 11, 1937 in Person County, NC, son of the late Willie Lewis & Emma Elizabeth Metts Wilson and was husband of 41 years to Joyce Edwards Wilson who survives.  He was retired from Loxcreen Corp. and also previously worked at IGA, Food Lion, Wilson’s Meat Market, and was a member of East Roxboro Church of God.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Cindy Lee Ashley (Randy), Shannon Lillian Wilson, four grandchildren, Dezmond Wilson, Tiffiney W. Whitt, Mindy Jordan Ashley (Daniel Justin Talbert), Brandy Jade Ashley (Dakota Weathersbee), three great-grandchildren, Spencer Randal Weathersbee, Regan Lee Ashley, Kylie Sofia Ashley, three sisters, Marie Wilson Carver (Garland), Barbara Wilson Whitlow (Cecil), Brenda Wilson Briggs (Archie), and brother, Willie Lawrence “Bill” Wilson (Judy).

In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson is preceded in death by siblings, Melvin Metts Wilson, Mildred Wilson Duncan, Ruby Wilson Seamster, Nannie Wilson Hatcher, John Thomas Wilson, Lewis Hebrew Wilson, and Edgar Eugene Allen.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 19, 2026 at East Roxboro Church of God with the Rev. Billy Edwards, and the Rev. Stuart Aycock officiating.  Interment will follow in the Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Ashley, Dustin Randleman, Jordan Smith, Danny “Buck” Wilson, Dezmond Wilson, and Stacy Wilson.
