Earl Thomas Brann

EARL THOMAS BRANN, affectionately known to the family as “Papa” age 88, of 433 Frank Whitfield Road, Hurdle Mills, NC died Sunday afternoon, August 14, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Mr. Brann was born December 12, 1933 in Person County, NC, son of the late William Earlie and Myrtle Lunsford Brann and was husband of nearly 67 years to Rebecca Allen Brann.  He was retired from Western Electric/AT&T after 32 years of service and was also a retired tobacco farmer. He enjoyed traveling with Rebecca and spending time with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters, Donna Brann Lee & husband, Bob, Rhonda Brann Strickland & husband, Marvin, four granddaughters, Kristyn Lee Sapp & husband, Jon, Aimee Lee Bowes & husband, Cory, Brannsyn Strickland Whitfield & husband, Colby, Alayna Baylee Strickland, four great-grandsons, Evan Ashburn Sapp, Leeland Tyler Sapp, Brycen Thomas Bowes, and Hunter Allen Bowes.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, C. Martin Brann.

Private graveside services were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 15, 2022 in the Burchwood Cemetery with Dr. M. David Chambers officiating.
