Donald Sherman

RICHARD "DONALD" SHERMAN, SR., age 89, of Timberlake, NC passed away Friday night, July 12, 2024 at the Hock Family Pavilion.    

Mr. Sherman was born April 18, 1935 in Person County, NC, son of the late Lewis Polk and Leona Brooks Sherman and was husband of 59 years to Delories Nutt Sherman who survives. He was self-employed cattleman/farmer and a member of Mount Harmony Baptist Church.  He served four years in the United States Air Force (St. John's, Newfoundland, 1954-1958).  

Mr. Sherman enjoyed spending time with his family, his pets and working with cattle.   

Surviving in addition to his wife, are two sons, Richard D. Sherman Jr. of Timberlake, NC, Ryan Sherman of Greensboro, NC, daughter, Rebecca Krauss (Paul Shrier) of Greensboro, NC, grandson, Jacob Krauss of Charlotte, NC, sister, Carolyn Nutt and husband, Billy, of Timberlake, NC, brother-in-law, John Reade Nutt and a host of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sherman is preceded in death by three brothers, Lewis Sherman, Cecil Sherman, and Edwin Sherman, and two sisters, Frances Welch, and Gyrtie Melton.  

Memorial service will be held at Roxboro Presbyterian Church, 319 N. Lamar Street, Roxboro, NC on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Matt Bowman officiating.
