Obituary

DAVID LEE PENINGER, SR., age 72, formerly of 398 Tom Oakley Road, Timberlake, NC passed away Friday afternoon, August 11, 2023 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Peninger was born May 11, 1951 in Durham County, NC, son of the late Jerry David & Lena Mazelle Thomas Peninger. He was retired from the City of Durham and was of the Baptist faith.

David was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are a son, David Lee Peninger, Jr. (Laura) of Semora, NC, grandsons, Travis Peninger (Courtney), Adam Hill, sister, Ann Chambers, and the mother of his children, Donna Fergurson Moore.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Peninger is preceded in death by a son, Brian Peninger, two sisters, Barbara DeBlanc, and Jerri Robinson.
