David Russell Bartlett

DAVID RUSSELL BARTLETT, age 88, of 111 Tobacco Road, Hurdle Mills, NC died Sunday night, March 15, 2020 at the VA Medical Center.

Mr. Bartlett was born November 18, 1931 in Scioto County, OH, son of the late Ervan Noah & Ada Marie Wilburn Bartlett and was husband of 67 years to the late Sadie June Reinhart Bartlett.  He was retired as a self-employed telephone contractor, was of the Baptist faith, and was a veteran of the US Army.  David enjoyed hunting in his younger years, studying history, and just talking with people.

Surviving are three sons, Mark Bartlett, Kenneth Bartlett both of Durham, NC, Russell Bartlett of Hurdle Mills, NC, daughter, Cindy B. Brown & husband, Kelly of Portsmouth, OH, eleven grandchildren, and thirteen great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Bartlett is preceded in death by a son, Jeff Bartlett, two brothers, Ervan Fredrick Bartlett, Everett Lucas, and sister, Ervean B. Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. John Pritchard officiating.  Interment will follow in the St. Matthew Catholic Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Chris Bartlett, Russell Bartlett, Shelby Bartlett, Lance Minks, Jamie Poole, and Rick Williamson.
