Danny Dale Long

DANNY DALE LONG, age 74, of 901 Ridge Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Monday morning, April 1, 2024 at Roxboro Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. 

Mr. Long was born December 30, 1949 in Person County, NC, son of the late John Rupert & Maggie Lucille Saunders Long and was husband of 40 years to the late Barbara Gayle “Bobbie” Pollard Long.   Prior to becoming disabled, he was employed with JF Wilkerson, was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army.

Danny enjoyed drag racing, hunting, fishing, and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers.   

Surviving are a son, Tony Long & companion, Holly Jones, three grandchildren, Haley Long, Katelyn Long, Ashley Long, brother, Allen “Snook” Long & wife, Carol, great-grandson, Jayden Daniel Long, brother-in-law, Wade West, and four step-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Long is preceded in death by a sister, Frances L. West, and brothers, Randy Long, and Billy Long.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, April 4, 2024 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Blackwell officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.
