Dannie Edward Eastwood

DANNIE EDWARD EASTWOOD, age 67, of 4230 Bowmantown Road, Roxboro, NC died Friday morning, November 25, 2022 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mr. Eastwood was born March 3, 1955 in Granville County, NC, son of the late Tommie Edward & Catherine Elizabeth West Eastwood and was husband of 36 years to Janet Hite Eastwood who survives.  He was retired from the City of Roxboro and was of the Baptist faith.

Dannie enjoyed fishing, rabbit hunting, tinkering around the house, watching Moonshiners, helping others, and being with his family and friends.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Ricky Edward Eastwood, siblings, Shirley E. Winstead (Ray), Donna E. Carver (Tracy), Debra E. Weaver (Joe), Tommie Eastwood (Paulene), brother-in-law, Dennis Sechrist (Carol), mother-in-law, Maxine Melton Hite Thomas (Walter), nieces and nephews, Melissa Sechrist Allison (Brad), Stephen D. Sechrist (Andre), Lauren W. Poole (Will), Brittany A. Carver, Amber N. Carver, great niece and nephews, Ella Silva, Logan Allison, and Ethan Allison.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Eastwood is preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie E. Sechrist, brother, Roger Donnell Eastwood, and pet cat, Boo-Boo.

Celebration of Life services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Person Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Mike Whitt officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.

Honorary pallbearers will be Howard Eastwood, Jay Knott, Andrew Overby, and Ricky Palmer.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142 or to the Animal Protection Society, P.O. Box 291, Roxboro, NC 27573.
