Dale (Harris) Whitlow

ROSA DALE HARRIS WHITLOW, age 78, of 2133 Harmony Road, Alton, VA, passed away Monday morning, March 30, 2026 at Novant Forsyth Medical Center.  Mrs. Whitlow was born November 25, 1947 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Charles Howard & Lucy Neal Harris and was wife of 58 years to Clarence H. Whitlow who survives.  She was retired from the Halifax School System, was a homemaker, and was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church.

Dale enjoyed cooking, babysitting, flowers, raising a vegetable garden, humming birds, and spending time with her family.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Kim Whitlow Fox & husband, Kevin, Cindy Elizabeth Whitlow, Holly Whitlow Rose & husband, Bryce, three grandchildren, Courtney Fox Prevett & husband, Slade, Bryley Grayce Rose, Otis Bryce “Oti” Rose, V, two great-grandchildren, Walker Slade Prevett, Lawson Taylor Prevett, brother, Huell Howerton & wife, Dorothy, and a host of nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Whitlow is preceded in death by siblings, Janice Harris Terry, Shelby Jean Clayton, Carolyn Laity Foushee, Charles Glenn Harris, Howard Belt Harris, Sandra Harris Bowes, and Catherine Anderson.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026 at Harmony United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robert F. Hardy officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.  

Pallbearers will be Derrick Harris, Justin Harris, Brent Howerton, Chris Howerton, Rob Powell, and Paul Walker.  Honorary pallbearer will be Davis Moseley.
