CHARLES MICHAEL GENTRY age 73, of 265 Amy Lane, Roxboro, NC died Sunday afternoon, December 19 2021 at Granville Medical Center.
Mr. Gentry was born December 22, 1947 in Person County, NC, son of the late Charles Augusta & Mary Pauline Foushee Gentry and was husband of Marie Jeanne Kulper Gentry who survives. He was retired from O.C. Mitchell, Jr., Inc. and also farmed all of his life, was a member of Allensville United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army where he served in Vietnam.
Mike “Legs” enjoyed horses, farming, antiques, hunting, fishing, spending time with his family and friends, and raising, showing, and running his beagles with the Mountain Valley Beagle Club.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters, Michaele Gentry (Kirk Carver), Amy Newton (Chris Canady) all of Roxboro, NC, Amy Hahn (Allen) of Swansboro, NC, three grandchildren, Dale Hogan, Ty Davis, Maddie Hahn, two brothers, Larry Gentry, Jeff Gentry (Sandra) all of Roxboro, NC, niece and nephew, Renee Barker and Kyle Gentry.
A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2021 at Allensville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jack Ruth and Pastor Denny Freeland officiating. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Blume, Ken Humphries, Craig Martin, Crafton Mitchell, Richard Parham, Wesley Wallace, Clyde Watson, and members of the Mountain Valley Beagle Club.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Mountain Valley Beagle Club, 3295 Zion Road, Gretna, VA 24557.
