Charlene (Johnson) Griggs

CHARLENE JOHNSON GRIGGS, age 84, of 1189 Country Club Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Wednesday morning, July 5, 2023 at the Commonwealth Senior Living at South Boston.

Ms. Griggs was born March 6, 1939 in Malvern, AR, daughter of the late Elisha Angelo "Jack"  & Nola Reynolds Johnson.  She was retired from Remington Arms, was of the Baptist faith and attended Oak Grove Church of Roxboro. 

She enjoyed flowers, cooking, shopping, riding her bicycle and spending time with her grandchildren.

Surviving are two children, Arlette Dineen & husband, Ken, Justin Hodges & wife, Lisa, all of Roxboro, NC, eight grandchildren, Caitlin Lechette & husband, Zach, Blake Hodges, Rachel Hodges, Autumn Hodges, Tiffany Dineen, Kasey Weate & husband, Jake, Hallie Bisaga & husband, Ja, Jesse Dineen & wife, Aprille, four great grandchildren, Braiden Dineen, Divinity Dineen, Daniel Dineen, David Dineen, and sister, Joan Ann Johnson & husband, Donald, of Charlottesville, VA. 

In addition to her parents, Ms. Griggs is preceded in death by a sister, Floy Jean Bray, and brother, Claiborne Johnson. 

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023 at Oak Grove Church of Roxboro with the Rev. Johnny Ray Tucker officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Braiden Dineen, Jesse Dineen, Blake Hodges, Zach Lechette, Ricky Palmer, and Jake Weate.
