Chad Branch Strickland

CHAD BRANCH STRICKLAND, age 41, of 1606 North Main Street, Roxboro, NC died Wednesday afternoon, November 4, 2020.

Mr. Strickland was born February 24, 1979 in Person County, NC, son of the late Charles Branch Strickland & Lucia Yarborough Strickland who survives.  Chad was truck driver who grew up a happy, energetic, and athletic young man.  He enjoyed country music, water skiing, hunting and fishing.  He loved making people laugh and his humor and love of life were infectious. As one of his family said of him " that man had a smile that would light up a room". His passions were the UNC Tarheels, Baseball and simply talking to people and making them smile. 

Chad suffered from an addiction problem from a young age however, and while he fought that battle for his whole life, he remained a loving son and brother throughout his struggle.  As one close friend said of him, " He always knew how to make someone's day brighter while struggling with his own demons".  His family will remember him as he grew up, handsome, laughing and full of life. 

Surviving in addition to his mother are a brother, Chuck H. Strickland of Roxboro, NC, sister, Penny Strickland Allen of Durham, NC, two nephews, Nicholas Allen, Cole Strickland, two nieces, Caroline Strickland, Talor Allen, his beloved beagle, Lilly, and a host of cousins.

In addition to his father, Mr. Strickland is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Marvin C. Strickland, Sr. & Dorothy Branch Strickland, and his maternal grandparents, Harry Yarborough & Margaret Yarborough.

Memorial graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 8, 2020 in the Theresa Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Herbert Brown officiating.
