Cathern Gertrude (Hall) Allen Lawrence

CATHERN HALL ALLEN LAWRENCE, age 83, of 1359 Hassell Horton Road, Hurdle Mills, NC passed away peacefully Monday night, November 13, 2023 at Mebane Ridge Assisted Living.

Mrs. Lawrence was born December 5, 1939 in Alamance County, NC, daughter of the late Joseph Milner & Ethel Gertrude Allison Hall and was wife of Carl Harden Lawrence who survives.  She was retired from the Person County School System where she was a teacher’s assistant and bus driver at Oak Lane Elementary School and was a member of Clement Baptist Church. 

Cathern enjoyed going on trips, sewing, cooking, line dancing, and spending time with family & friends.

Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters, Joy Allen Price & husband, Steve of Boone’s Mill, VA, Tracy Jill Allen of Roxboro, NC, five grandchildren, Allen Lee Coleman, and Allison Paige Coleman both of Roxboro, NC, Austin Price & wife, Jordan of Roanoke, VA, Ryan Price & wife, Amber of Boone’s Mill, VA, and Katie Price of Boone’s Mill, VA.  Also surviving are her sister, Shirley Roberts & husband, Millard of Mebane, NC, and two step-children, Jackie Lawrence of Custer, KY, and Richard Lawrence & wife, Natalie of Elizabethtown, KY. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Lawrence is preceded in death by her first husband, Larry Arnold Allen, and her two brothers, Jerry Hall, and Frank Hall. 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, 2023 in the Clement Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson officiating.  Those wishing to pay their respects may do so Thursday, November 16, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. till 4:00 p.m. at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services, 1810 Durham Road, Roxboro, NC. 

The family would like to thank the Mebane Ridge Memory Care Unit and Gentiva Hospice for their loving care of mom.
