CAROL DEAN TATUM TRICKEY, age 88, of 1993 McGhee’s Mill Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Thursday night, August 3, 2023 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mrs. Trickey was born October 21, 1934 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late Joe Scott Tatum, Sr. & Lottie Alma Long Tatum and was wife of the late Arthur Couch “AC” Trickey. She was retired from Byrd’s Foods and was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church.
She enjoyed flowers, shopping, word search puzzles, decorating, and spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are two children, David C. Trickey & wife, Karen, Cheryl T. Tingen & husband, David all of Roxboro, NC, two grandchildren, Kayleigh Trickey (Houston Hamilton), Danielle Whitt & husband, Austin, great granddaughter, Tatum Claire Whitt, three step-grandchildren, Blake Tingen, Michelle Tingen & husband, Zeb, Jr., Preston Tingen, three step-great grandchildren, Zayden Barnette, Remington Barnette, and Rebecah Barnette.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Trickey is preceded in death by four sisters, Doris Davis, Louise Brewer, Ellen Montague, Estelle Cox, three brothers, Joe Tatum, Jr., Clyde Tatum, and Charles Tatum.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Gerald Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Billy Brewer, W.F. Cox, Jerry Davis, Chris Dixon, Brian Lunsford, Randy Tatum, and Thomas Tatum. Honorary pallbearers will be, Chuck Burch, Josh Clayton, Brooks Dixon, Roy Huff, Jay Neville, Hugh Whitt, and Keith Williams.
