CHARLES RICHARD “CJ” BOWES, JR. age 44, of 320 Johnny Palmer Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Sunday morning, April 2, 2023 at Duke University Hospital.
Mr. Bowes was born February 9, 1979 in Person County, NC, son of Charles Richard Bowes, Sr. & wife, Pamela & Kathy Elizabeth Long (Donnie Thaxton), and was husband of 15 years to Rosanne Lynette “Rosie” Ladd Bowes all of whom survive. He was owner/operator of Right Lane Trucking prior to becoming disabled and previously worked with Jimmy Lewis & Son’s, Brandon’s Towing, Lane Construction, and was of the Christian faith.
CJ enjoyed fishing, riding his bike, mountain trips, grilling, driving his truck, running heavy equipment, and spending time with family and friends.
CJ was diagnoised with cancer in 2022. He fought as hard as he could through the pain and constant set backs throughout his treatment.
Surviving in addition to his parents and wife are two children, Michael Bowes, April Bowes of the home, sisters, Crystal Walker & husband, Jason of Danville, VA, Ruby Yarbrough & husband, Ramon Fabrega Wilmington, NC, brother, Chris Lewis & wife, Shannon of Norlina, NC, uncle, Mark Bowes, brother-in-law, Jason Ladd & wife, Ashley of Pencacola, FL, sister-in-law, Samantha Ladd of Roxboro, NC, and several nieces & nephews.
Mr. Bowes is preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law, Michael & Deborah Palmer Ladd.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 6, 2023 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Norman Talley & Randy Whitt officiating. Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2023 at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Broughton, Bobby Dickens, Dillon Grogan, Jack Hazel, Brad Lewis, Michael Montague, Chris Palmer, and Travis Slaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be, Kevin Lewis, Chris Whitt, and the Brotherhood/Sisterhood Motorcycle Club.
