BRODIE WAYNE BOWES, age 75, of 849 Oak Grove Road, Roxboro, NC died Saturday morning, April 18, 2020 at Person Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Bowes was born January 2, 1945 in Person County, NC, son of the late Clarence King Bowes & Addie Mae Vicks Bowes and was husband of 47 years to the late Betty Jane Briggs Bowes. He was retired from Bromma after 42 years of service and was a member of Theresa Baptist Church. Brodie enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, working, farming, and riding motorcycles in his younger days.
Surviving are three children, Timothy W. Bowes & wife, Cindy, Penny B. Crabtree & husband, Rudy, Michele B. Middleton & husband, Jason all of Roxboro, NC, four grandchildren, Kaitlyn Bowes of Raleigh, NC, Joshua Crabtree, Jaxson Middleton, Madison Middleton all of Roxboro, NC, three brothers, Mac Bowes & wife, Betty of Greensboro, NC, Coy “Turkey” Bowes, F.T. Bowes both of Roxboro, NC, sister, Jean B. Carver of Roxboro, NC, and companion, Julie O'Connell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bowes is preceded in death by a daughter, Kristie Lynn Bowes, three brothers, Ernest Bowes, Milo Bowes, Weldon Bowes, two sisters, Thelma B. Clayton, and Golvia B. Breeze.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at Theresa Baptist Church with the Rev. Herbert Brown. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. You may come by Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Monday from 8:30 a.m. till 5:00 p.m. to sign the guest register and pay respects.
Pallbearers will be Darnell Carver, Roy Carver, Jr., Dwayne Clayton, Rodney Howerton, Anthony Lee, and Tommy Warren.
Flowers are acceptable or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 8300 Health Park, Suite 10, Raleigh, NC 27615.
Due to the Executive Order regarding COVID-19, attendance will be limited to 50 people.
