BRENDA McALEXANDER VAUGHAN, age 79, of 28 South Old Lantern Road, Timberlake, NC passed away peacefully Thursday evening, August 21, 2025 at her home with her loving family by her side.
Mrs. Vaughan was born December 6, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA, daughter of the late Ralph & Mary Sublett McAlexander and was wife of more than 51 years to Glenn Thomas Vaughan who survives. She was a legal secretary and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.
She cherished every moment spent visiting with her children and grandchildren, who were the joy of her life. She loved going for cruises in the Corvette with her husband, especially when the ride ended with a milkshake. A spirited card player, she enjoyed many lively games of Skip-Bo and Canasta with family and friends. Her favorite holiday was Christmas, when she filled her home with Santa figurines and lovingly decorated her Christmas tree each year. She also had a gift for cooking and a heart for caring for others, always making sure those around her felt loved and well-fed.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children, Connie Glenn Vaughan & wife, Christie, Tammy Vaughan McLamb & husband, Patrick, Brent Alexander Vaughan & wife, Rachel, grandchildren, Connie Glenn Vaughan, Jr., Coleson Walker Vaughan, Cade Evan Vaughan, Jackson Alexander Vaughan, Lincoln Thomas Vaughan, McKinley Rae Vaughan, Kayley McLamb Hibbard, Lacey Kathryn McLamb, Mallory Elizabeth McLamb, and her twin sister, Linda M. Duke.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Vaughan is preceded in death by three brothers, Ralph, Bob, Bennie McAlexander, and brother-in-law, Stanley Clay Duke.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 24, 2025 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Chambers officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Reid Hibbard, Patrick McLamb, Cade Vaughan, C.J. Vaughan, Coleson Vaughan, and Jackson Vaughan.
