"Bobby" Robert James Taylor

ROBERT JAMES “BOBBY” TAYLOR, JR., age 67, of 572 Cavel Chub Lake Road, Roxboro, NC, died Thursday night, February 10, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Taylor was born March 4, 1954 in Person County, NC, son of the late Robert James Taylor, Sr. & the late Nanulene Evans Taylor. He was retired from Aleris Corp. and was of the Baptist faith.

Bobby enjoyed NASCAR, NFL football, watching old westerns, listening to classic rock, and was an avid Duke Blue Devils fan. 

Surviving are a daughter, Kelley M. Stewart & husband, David of Roxboro, NC, brother, William “Billy” Kenneth Taylor & wife, Brandy of Oxford, NC, sister, Gail Fuller & husband, Paul of Timberlake, NC, three grandchildren, John, Justine, and Andrew Stewart, nephew, Hunter Taylor, and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by a sister, Bonnie Louise Taylor Smith.  

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Gerald Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the Person Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be, Chris Davis, Dayton Evans, Buck Martin, Lester Martin, Robby Martin, Billy Taylor, Hunter Taylor, and Brandon Whitlow.  Honorary pallbearer will be John Stewart.
