"Bobby" Ernest Woodrow Dickerson

ERNEST WOODROW “BOBBY” DICKERSON, JR., age 91, of 1906 Semora Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Sunday morning, March 2, 2025 at his residence. 

Mr. Dickerson was born November 7, 1933 in Person County, NC, son of the late Ernest Woodrow Dickerson, Sr. & Bessie Mae Walker Dickerson and was husband of 70 years to Patricia “Pat” Dunkley Dickerson who survives.  He was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. after more than 40 years of service, was a member of Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church where he was a Sunday School Teacher, and was a veteran of the US Army. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are two children, Charles Dickerson & wife, Wanda, Deanna D. Burch & husband, Chuck, four grandchildren, Joshua Dickerson & wife, Kristin, David Dickerson & wife, Rachel, Noah Burch (Sylvia Wilson), Nicole Burch, four great-grandchildren, Ava Dickerson, Emma Dickerson, Kylee Dickerson, Karis Dickerson, pet dog, Bowie, and caregivers, Clifton & Pam Lee.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Dickerson is preceded in death by a daughter, Pennie Karen Dickerson Lolley, brother, Jean Dempsy “J.D.” Dickerson, and sister, Doris Dickerson Powell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Lamberth Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Ricky Lamm officiating.  Interment will be in the Concord Church of Roxboro Cemetery at a later date.  The family will receive friends and guests after the service in the church fellowship hall and other times at the home.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eddie Perkins (Old Men’s) Sunday School Class.
