WILLIAM MICHAEL “BILLY” PERKINS age 83, of 17 Richland Road, Roxboro, NC died Sunday morning, October 23, 2022 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Mr. Perkins was born August 1, 1939 in Person County, NC, son of the late Henry Ethridge David & Esther Girly Clayton Perkins and was husband of 33 years to Linda Taylor Perkins who survives. He was retired as owner/operator of Billy Perkins Auto Sales after 45 years and was of the Primitive Baptist faith.
Billy enjoyed watching old westerns, going on trips to the mountains, going out to eat, going to church, and spending time with his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three children, Carolyn P. Ferguson & husband, Kelly of Bahama, NC, Jim Davis & wife, Renee, Ernie Davis & wife, Jennifer all of Roxboro, NC, seven grandchildren, Jessica Lynn Wilkerson, Shannon Michelle Bowes & husband, Matthew, William Crowder, Taylor Davis & wife, Stephanie, Carly Davis, Molly Davis, Terri Lynn Davis, two great grandchildren, Shane Bowes, and Cameron Crowder.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Perkins is preceded in death by his first wife, Beryle Ray Gentry Perkins, daughter, Penny Ray Perkins, three brothers, James R. “Jimmy” Perkins, Sr., Phillip R. “Pawho” Perkins, and Timothy L. Perkins.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October, 26, 2022 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Elder LaRay Smith and the Elder Jessie Hutchins officiating. Interment will follow in the Flat River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and guests from 12:30 till 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
Pallbearers will be Daniel Clayton, Clayton Long, Mitchell Long, Bret Perkins, Jimmy Ray Perkins, and Ray Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Bowes, Kelly Ferguson, Duke Rogers, Brock Stigall, and Jerry Woodlief.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Roxboro Primitive Baptist Church c/o Linda Perkins, 17 Richland Road, Roxboro, NC 27574.
