Betsy Ann (Hornbuckle) Bowes

BETSY ANN HORNBUCKLE BOWES, age 59, of Rougemont, NC passed away Monday evening, May 6, 2024 at her home. 

Mrs. Bowes was born August 13, 1964 in Person County, NC, daughter of the late James Samuel “Jimmie” & Rachel Daphine Allen Hornbuckle and was wife of nearly 35 years to Haywood Junior Bowes who survives.  She was a homemaker, a member of The Eastern Star, and was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Betsy enjoyed trips to the beach, flowers, animals, and going to luncheons with the Christian Women’s Club.   

Surviving in addition to her husband are a brother, David Lee Hornbuckle & fiancée, Deborah Garrard of Rougemont, NC. 

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bowes is preceded in death by a brother, William Curtis Hornbuckle.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Mt. Harmony Baptist Church with Pastor Barry Chambers officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.

Pallbearers will be Ryan Dunn, Walter McKay, Phillip Reaves, Carl Rimmer, Amos Rozier, and Timmy Thomas.
