Bertie Ann (Dannenburg) Meachum

BERTIE ANN DANNENBURG MEACHUM, age 82, of 1635 Olive Branch Road, Roxboro, NC died Monday afternoon, December 14, 2020 at the Hock Family Pavilion.

Mrs. Meachum was born April 19, 1938 in Durham County, NC, daughter of the late Samuel & Mary Sherron Dannenburg and was wife of the late Ralph Maxton Meachum.  She was a retired hairdresser, formerly worked for Ferry Finishing, was a member of Triple Springs Baptist Church and attended First Pentecostal Church in Durham.  Mrs. Meachum enjoyed fishing, bingo, the ocean, being outdoors, working her vegetable garden, church, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are three sons, Billy J. Meachum & wife, Cindy of Hillsborough, NC, Ralph Meachum, II of Mebane, NC, Kenny R. Meachum & wife, Sandi of Roxboro, NC, eleven grandchildren, Sarah Kurtz, Haley Meachum, Savannah Meachum, Lily Meachum, Max Meachum, III, Dale Meachum, Will Meachum, Megan Meachum, Melissa Meachum, Brandon Meachum, Morgan Meachum, two sisters-in-law, Martha Smith, and Helen Jean Jerrell. 

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Meachum is preceded in death by a brother, Samuel Vernon Dannenburg.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 18, 2020 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Nathaniel Urshan.  Interment will follow in the Triple Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:30 till 8:00 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the funeral home and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Roger Harris, Joshua Jerrell, Kent Jerrell, Nathan Jerrell, Blake Pepper, and Danny Turner.
