Baxter Monroe Tuck

BAXTER MONROE TUCK age 83, of 217 Montpelier Ave., Roxboro, NC died Monday night, February 1, 2021 at his home.

Mr. Tuck was born December 24, 1937 in Person County, NC, son of the late Harvey Albert & Doxie Mae Carver Tuck and was husband of 18 years to Joyce Marie Duffer Tuck who survives. He was retired from Collins & Aikman Corp. after 33 years of service, attended Longhurst United Methodist Church, and was a veteran of the US Army.  Baxter enjoyed baseball, gardening, golf, working in his yard, and spending time with family.

Surviving in addition to his wife are five children, William Whitfield & wife, Wanda, Wilma W. Owen & husband, Glenn all of Roxboro, NC, Renee Nunn & husband, Chris of Red Bank, VA, Mickey Anderson & wife, Lisa, Scottie Anderson & wife, Juanita all of South Boston, VA, brother, Paul Tuck of Roxboro, four sisters, Thelma Eunice McMillan of Iowa, Peggy Mae Garrett, Mary Frances Blume & husband, James, Carolyn Dickey all of Roxboro, NC, and a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents Mr. Tuck is preceded in death by his first wife, Evelyn Carver Tuck, daughter, Angela Anderson Reaves, grandson, Daniel Anderson, two brothers, Albert “Mac” Tuck, Jimmy Tuck, and sister, Doxie Ann Tuck.  

A Celebration of Life will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2021 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Norman Talley officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and other times at the home.
