Barry Wayne Ellis

BARRY WAYNE ELLIS, age 68, of 451 Mountain Ridge Road, Rougemont, NC passed away Wednesday morning, May 29, 2024 at his home. 

Mr. Ellis was born October 11, 1955 in Durham County, NC, son of the late Billy & Christine Frankie Davis Ellis.   He was formerly employed with Athol and was of the Baptist faith.

Barry enjoyed listening to country music, going for rides, putting model cars together, clogging, and watching NASCAR & drag racing.   

Surviving are four siblings, Vernon Ellis & wife, Belinda of Stem, NC, Larry Wayne Ellis of Rougemont, NC, Deborah Vandeventer of Butner, NC, Mark Ellis & wife, Darlene of Roxboro, NC, daughter, Crystal Ellis Blackmon, and two grandchildren. 

In addition to his parents, Mr. Ellis is preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Britt, and Penny Winstead.

Graveside services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 in the Mount Tabor Church Cemetery, 4304 Bahama Road, Rougemont, NC with the Rev. Norma Roberts officiating.  The family will receive friends and guests at the home of Vernon & Belinda Ellis, 4045 Old Hwy. 75, Stem, NC.  Those wishing to pay their respects may do so from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, May 31, 2024 at Strickland and Jones Funeral Services.
