Barry Stewart Cotton, Jr.

BARRY STEWART COTTON, JR., age 51, of Roxboro, NC passed away Thursday morning, February 19, 2026 at his home.  Born August 5, 1974 in Durham County, NC, son of the late Barry Stewart Cotton, Sr. & Lynda Bass Cotton who survives.  He was a self-employed electrician and was of the Baptist faith.

Barry enjoyed hunting, woodworking, building and flying remote controlled helicopters.

Surviving in addition to his mother are a son, Justin Dale Cotton of Greenville, NC, aunt, Frances Cotton Short of Roxboro, NC, and a host of other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 22, 2026 in the Strickland and Jones Funeral Services Chapel with the Rev. Ben Durand officiating.  Interment will be in the Oak Grove Memorial Gardens at a later date.  

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Duke Cancer Center, 20 Duke Medicine Circle, Durham, NC 27710.
