Barney Lynn Poole

BARNEY LYNN POOLE, age 60, of 95 Harold Gill Road, Roxboro, NC passed away peacefully Sunday morning, May 4, 2025 at his home with his loving family by his side. 

Mr. Poole was born August 29, 1964 in Person County, NC, son of the late James Bernice “Dick” Poole, Sr. & Ann Todd Poole and was husband of Debra Renee Ford Poole who survives.  He was employed with Duke Energy, and was a member of Olive Branch Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and Usher.

Barney enjoyed making music, riding his tractor, working his garden, cooking stews, his job, fishing with the grandchildren, and spending time with his family, especially his twin brother, Barry.

Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, Barry G. Poole & wife, Elaine, two children, Samantha Cash (Lester Neathery), Scottie Cash, sisters-in-law, Christie W. Poole, Lisa M. Poole, father and mother-in-law, Stanley & Joan Reaves, grandchildren, Grace Cash, Camryn Reaves, Raylen Reaves, Layna Neathery, Carla Neathery, and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great- nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Poole is preceded in death by siblings, Bruce G. Poole, Timothy James Poole, James Bernice “Bernie” Poole, Jr., Mark Andrew Poole, and Patricia P. Yarboro.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Olive Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Cline, and the Rev. Freddie Hobbs officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at Olive Branch Baptist Church, and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Bobby Carter, Mike Gray, Stacey Kendrick, Jeremy Royster, Alan Satterfield, and Malcom Vincent.  Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Neathery, and Adam Poindexter.
