Alvin Simpson, Jr., 81, of 10672 Oxford Rd., Rougemont, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Born in Person County, Mr. Simpson was the son of the late Alvin Durant Simpson and Gladys Virginia Oakley Simpson. He was the devoted husband of the late Annie Jane Ellis Simpson. Mr. Simpson retired from the American Tobacco Company after a long and dedicated career.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Simpson; his sisters, Kay Glasscock and Donnie Anne Simpson Horton; and his brother, Lynn Simpson.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Christy Dawn Simpson, Pamela Simpson Hanson, and Brenda Gail Simpson Trickler. Mr. Simpson was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren—Scottie, Jennifer, Jessica, Hallie, Thomas, Kyle, Amanda, JC, and Taylor—and ten great-grandchildren, Alexis, Trevian, Miguel, Lucia, Luis, Lincoln, Angelina, Sebastian, Diego, and Wyatt, who brought great joy to his life.
A celebration of life will be held in the fall to honor and remember him.
