Harold Thomas Denny

HAROLD THOMAS DENNY, age 86, of 3650 Denny’s Store Road, Roxboro, NC passed away Sunday morning, September 15, 2019 at Person Memorial Hospital.

Mr. Denny was born May 28, 1933 in Person County, NC, son of the late Jessie William & Ruth Gordon Pritchett Denny and was husband of 64 years to Dorothy Marie Davis Denny who survives.  He was a former Deputy with the Person County Sheriff’s Department, was retired from Life of Georgia, and was a member of Sharon Baptist Church where he previously served as a Deacon and on various other committees and was a former member of the Adult Choir.

Harold enjoyed fishing, hunting and was an avid Tar Heel fan. 

Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Sheryl Denny Siek of Charlotte, NC, and a granddaughter, Brenna Siek.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Denny is preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Denny, and two sisters, Lillian Bullock, and Alma Royster.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at Sharon Baptist Church with the Rev. Victor Blackwell and the Rev. Vernon Wilkerson officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends and guests for one hour prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. 

Pallbearers will be Michael Davis, Richard Davis, Donny Denny, Josh Denny, Dalton Huff, and Tim Royster.  Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Jacob Denny, Keith Howerton, Barry Melton, Sam Tingen, and John Williford.
