Francis "Frank" James Mitchell

Francis James “Frank” Mitchell, age 86, of Springfield, TN passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019 at The Waters of Robertson in Springfield, TN.  

Mr. Mitchell was born November 5, 1932 in Danville, VA son of the late Dewey Audrey Mitchell, Sr. & Lottie Grey Williams Mitchell, and was husband of Dollie Moon Mitchell who survives. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force where he worked as a Technical Supply Sgt.  Mr. Mitchell was a singer and song writer and loved playing his guitar, wood carving, playing cards, fishing and was a member of the West End Free Will Baptist Church. 

In addition to his wife Mr. Mitchell is survived by, three sons, Charles (Donna) Mitchell of Blackfoot, ID, Lester (Billie Jean) Mitchell of San Antonio, TX and James D. Mitchell of Melrose, NM, two daughters, Sunny Mae (John) Duszynski of Munith, MI and Pamela R. Wilson of Springfield, TN, step-sons, Dennis (Debbie) Moon of Adams and Danny (Cheryl) Moon of Springfield, TN, step-daughter, Diane Goff of Springfield, TN, sister-in-law, Lula Mitchell of Roxboro, NC, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. 
 

In addition to his parents Mr. Mitchell is preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Cole Mitchell and his brothers, Dewey Mitchell, Jr. and Billy Mitchell. 
 

Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 16, 2019 in the Person Memorial Cemetery with the Rev. Ron Pruitt officiating.
